are you pushing performance beyond limits?, do you own a solid cooler for your processor? no cooling issues? you might be amazed at how many people opt for a K SKU CPU, overclocked motherboard, and a moderately decent cooler, never adjusting their settings. then after a few years they realize they need a new processor. achieving 300-700fps on a 60hz-120hz display is really unnecessary. (i don’t know your monitor specs, so i could be selling ice to the Eskimos) if you’re aiming for better competitive performance, a high refresh rate screen would be more beneficial (it lets you actually view all those frames). they now reach up to 360hz! :0

Using the 3090 should work fine—yes? You could opt for the 12700k if you prefer marginally better multi-core performance. That chip has eight cores with faster speeds and includes four efficiency cores. Alder Lake’s thread count is different between E and P cores, while its core scheduler favors efficiency cores over W10’s.
