I considered if a 9700k processor with 5ghz should handle 10k performance on multiple cores. Checked my BIOS for any overlooked settings and looked at the cache speed—currently set to 4.7ghz. Running Corsair Dominator memory with 4x4gb at 3200mhz.

All core speeds are around 5GHz but I'm only seeing about 8900. I've also checked if I can drop the limits on my motherboard and power settings.

Same issue again. On UserBenchmark my CPU is performing way below expectations (1st percentile) at just 67.6%. All cores are 4.9GHz and I have a custom water loop that reaches 80 on Prime95. Perhaps it's time to switch formats, let me know if you think of anything.

I recently set up my 8700k against his 9700k on the same board and the 9700k had a 5ghz 4.7 on the ring, which was getting 10,300 in r23. Remember, the 9700k runs at 4.7 stock, so I gained about 800 points from that 300mhz OC.

Additionally launch r23, then access Task Manager by right-clicking r23 and selecting "Run as Real Time." Observe the performance and check if the OS feels overly heavy.
