I have an MSI vector gp76 paired with an RTX 3080 and an i7 12700H. I play games in 1080P ultra, which demands more CPU power. I've noticed the CPU throttles even when efficiency cores are off and max fan mode is selected. Power use drops from about 60 watts to 45 watts, and the CPU speed falls from 4082 MHz to around 3500 MHz, causing a performance drop of roughly 15 to 20%. It's unusual for me since I've seen other laptops with the same chip without such throttling at 90°C. I've adjusted the BIOS multiple times but had no success. My friend suggested upgrading to a 330 watts power supply, but I didn't mention that GPU power usage is typically between 100 and 120 watts at the same time.
