Hello, after upgrading from Windows 7 to 8.1 online, you mentioned you had your code but didn’t have a disk ready, so you’re now back to an unlicensed Windows 7 version temporarily. You’re asking if it’s possible to use your old Windows 8.1 key for another upgrade so you can get a proper Windows installation again.

Get the 8.1 ISO file and install it using a bootable USB drive. The activation key you possess works for 8.1 U, and you can also use the phone activation method if needed—this has been tried several times in the past.

I downloaded the MSDN version for 8.1 and prepared it for burning onto a USB drive using RUFUS.
