Win 10 downgrade to 7 didn’t work, so I had to reformat and install Windows 7. If you have a backup on the C drive, can you find an easy method to copy files back and restore program data quickly? You want it to feel almost normal fast.

Using this approach only allows you to retrieve files that don’t need installation, like documents, music, pictures, etc. You can’t simply paste old programs and expect them to function correctly. A few exceptions exist, such as Steam, but most won’t. This means you’d need a proper backup—perhaps from software like Acronis—beforehand. You should have done this if you weren’t certain about staying on Windows 10.

I mostly use my other computer for copying games, but I can just manually copy save files now. Because I understand they function that way, installing the rest should work fine.
