Hey everyone, I faced a similar issue last night when my keyboard and mouse drivers failed, forcing me to reinstall Windows 10. All my files were on the C-Drive, but I still had them in the windows.old folder. Everything on my secondary drive looked fine. How can I transfer everything from the old installation back to the new one? Should the broken drivers remain in the windows.old folder? My main goal is to get my games from Steam and Origin back onto the C-Drive, as re-downloading would take time. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Access the Windows.old directory, and retrieve whatever you need. Simply move them to your desired location. Restoring to Windows.old isn’t possible unless you perform an upgrade.

Sure, you can easily paste Steam and Origin links along with the game titles—they should function properly.

Yup! Just reinstall Steam, Origin, etc., close them if needed, move the games to the right place, and launch them. It’ll finish quickly. When you open a game on Steam (or Origin), it seems like it’s starting the download again, but actually it runs fast. Steam checks all files, fills in missing parts, adds any extra libraries or DRM required, and then the game launches smoothly.
