The old Gateway laptop is stuck in a repeated startup cycle, possibly due to corrupted OS files on the boot drive. A fresh Windows installation might resolve the issue, though I don’t have a Windows XP Pro install disc. The system runs an AMD Turion 64 CPU with two DDR RAM modules.

I've tried this several times on my own computer: creating a Windows repair USB, booting from it, and clicking the fix install link. It seems to work—shouldn't be too hard, just a bit of time.

I believe the Windows XP Pro version might be damaged beyond repair since it frequently crashed when I attempted to repair it, but I managed to install Windows XP Home instead and it functions properly. I thought I could salvage anything because it was said to use a connector config/standard from the 90s.

I don't believe I created any backups.
