Hey there, just wanted to share some thoughts on setting up Windows 10 after your recent Ryzen build. Since you're considering swapping out the ASRock X370 SLI/AC motherboard and want to keep everything intact, it's definitely doable. You can reinstall Windows while making the hardware upgrade at the same time. Just be prepared for a full day of downloading, installing, and adjusting your software. If you need help planning the steps, let me know!

It would be simple to change the board without reinstalling Windows.

The problem isn’t just about installing the wrong driver. There are conflicts between boards, so you’ll need to find every driver for your current board and remove it before switching. While there are guides available, I’m not convinced it’s worth the effort unless other solutions exist. Reinstalling Windows might work, but I’m unsure if it preserves drivers. If it doesn’t, that could be a good sign, but I still need more clarity.

It doesn't seem logical. And I'm not sure you'll run into driver issues. Still, it's wise to reinstall occasionally based on your needs.

You have the ability to transfer your programs elsewhere. Most applications don’t mind how they were set up, and Windows usually doesn’t either. However, restoring file associations or context menus can take a bit more effort.

I quickly chose to replace the boards without making any changes, just going with it as planned. My reason for doing it properly faded soon, and it might come back to haunt me later. Thanks for your feedback!

I’m not sure about the exact process, but I understand how to restore Windows without risking your data. Let me know if you’d like more details.
