You're facing an issue where the Windows installation tool isn't automatically using the CD key you expect. Make sure the CD is properly inserted and the installation media is recognized. If the problem persists, try using a USB drive with the ISO file instead.

You have the option to bypass this part, allowing Windows 10 to detect the key later. Were you connected to your Microsoft account during the last installation?

You're already signed in, and your key is connected to your Microsoft account. On a new installation, you should skip the "I don't have a product key" option.

Are you sure you're signed in? You might be prompted to confirm if you've updated your hardware, as a security measure. Just agree and the verification code will move.

I accessed my account before the setup and am currently connected via my phone. Here’s what I see on the screen. My aim is to install this fresh update onto my new SSD.

Performed a fresh install of Windows 10 on a machine I hadn’t used recently. Skipped retrieving the original product key and activated right after setup. Microsoft employs various methods to monitor such activities. Created a personal account but haven’t added my Microsoft credentials yet.

I realized this. There was another Windows version installed somewhere. To remove the old one, follow these steps.

You’ve set up Windows but the CD key isn’t working. You’re logged in with your Microsoft account. Try restarting your PC or clearing the cache for the license. If issues persist, contact Microsoft support.
