Hi!
I just restarted Windows 11 which has been running for at least a year without any issues. After the restart, my mouse stopped working. I tried three different mice, none of them worked. They all functioned on this version before. It seems the problem isn't hardware-related since they worked on another PC. I've checked many online solutions but nothing helped. Please help! Thanks a lot.

Do the mice operate within BIOS for the culprit system?
You might attempt a clean boot;
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...ee...Windows_11
It could be a driver problem stopping the mice from working. Does the keyboard function on your setup? If yes,
follow this guide, which includes the ability to reboot while holding down the shift key.

Hi!
I considered using the mouse driver but it didn’t seem to help. After rebooting in safe mode, the mouse still wouldn’t function. I haven’t tried a full clean reboot yet, but the keyboard worked fine—just Windows couldn’t establish any mouse connection, even on older builds.
I performed a system recovery and it resolved the issue, though it was a bit frustrating because it erased some of my Steam game saves (one with over 100 hours). Still, it did fix the problem.
I’ve owned a PC for years, built computers, and been fixing them since Windows 3.1, but this has never happened before. I’m still trying to understand what’s going on.
Thanks a lot for the advice—I’ve saved these tips. If it happens again, I’ll definitely follow those troubleshooting steps.
