Hi all, So I recently did a clone to a larger SSD and windows is a bit unstable. I know there is an option to reinstall W10 without losing data but what I want to know is will the reinstall keep everything as it is as in programs/settings and what not? I've got qbitorrent with quite a bit of torrents and my itunes library (although connected to NAS).
Your Firefox items are linked to your account, allowing you to access them anywhere. If you're not logged in, create an account to retain your saved data.
Macrium Reflect faced issues with the drive not starting properly, especially with partitions. I haven’t experienced this myself. A clone a few weeks back and Windows has only recently shown signs of instability over the past couple of days. All my torrents are stored on a NAS, and I need to keep them for easy access within the program.
I might prefer a fresh setup. I plan to upgrade Windows by checking the update process first. After cloning and configuring it as the primary boot device, Windows wouldn't launch unless in safe mode. I had to expand the partition in safe mode to make it work, which was unexpected.
I've been utilizing Acronis for many years and have experienced significant success with it.
EaseUS Partition Master works well as well. It also offers native cloning capabilities for SSDs from various-sized hard drives: https://www.easeus.com/support/partition...te-os.html
Macrium Reflect works well, but I suggest using his rescue USB for cloning/image/restore (or on the second computer) to ensure your cloned system isn’t active during the process.
