I set up the OS on an SSD with an HDD connected via SATA. Now I need to remove the HDD from the system so I can resolve the issue with "Reboot and Select proper Boot device...". What steps should I take?

You set it up on the hard drive instead of the SSD, or perhaps you disconnected the wrong device.

I put it on an SSD but can't disconnect the HDD because of a problem.

It appears the system is showing this alert because it couldn’t locate a bootable device.

Yes, the message continues even after unplugging the HDD and SSD. Once both are connected, everything works fine. P.S. The OS runs on the SSD.

The bootloader appears to be connected to the HDD, so reinstalling Windows using just the SSD should resolve the problem.

Ensure the operating system is installed on the SSD by opening your BIOS and choosing the SSD as the boot device. If this fails, verify it's installed on the HDD. To remove the HDD, reinstall the OS onto the SSD. If you prefer to keep the HDD, simply switch the SSD to the first available boot slot.

You might expect it to start the operating system because disconnecting both power sources simultaneously can reset the system and allow it to load the OS from storage.
