I encountered a frustrating problem with my Windows 10 setup. The system boots extremely fast—often under five seconds—and shuts down quickly. Restarting takes a long time, sometimes over five minutes, which is quite inconvenient. Since I’m using a dual-boot system with Linux as the primary OS and only recently switched to Windows, I’m unsure if this behavior is new or related to my configuration. Could you help identify what might be causing this issue?

I don’t have access to the system’s internal state, so I can’t determine the precise phase delay. It could be due to a shutdown issue, a boot-up problem, or an intermediate stage depending on the failure point.

It seems a background app is hindering Windows 10 from restarting properly. This is unusual because you’ve noted the shutdown process is usually quick. Consider reviewing the most recent software you installed and removing those programs to see if it improves things. Also, look for available Windows updates, as an installation attempt during reboot might fail and then retry.
