Resolving GPU sag issues leads to instability
I've been using an Asrock 6900xt phantom gaming D for nearly a year. The card tends to sag a lot, which I usually ignored. Recently, I saw a cheap GPU support stick and wondered if fixing the sag would help. I experienced two crashes—Unreal Engine version D3D device loss—and once I noticed display issues. My concern is whether the prolonged sag might have affected the GPU when it was finally propped up. Did I possibly shift the GPU too much during installation? Are others on RDNA 2 seeing similar problems with the latest drivers? Just to be sure, I used a waterlevel to check my setup and removed the stick again out of caution, but I can't confirm if that resolved anything today.
It looks like the device isn't firmly placed. Please remove it and reinstall it, as I recommend.
This was what I worried about. Essentially, it's not a big deal as long as it doesn't harm the card and it stops functioning properly when it sags. I plan to reinsert it, but likely won't need to support it anymore then.
