I’m purchasing a computer for gaming and here are some potential builds I'm considering:

1. An Intel Core i9-9940X paired with two NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti graphics cards.
2. An Intel Core i9-9940X with a single NVIDIA TITAN RTX graphics card.
3. A Threadripper 2990WX processor with two NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti graphics cards.
4. A Threadripper 2990WX processor with a single NVIDIA TITAN RTX graphics card.

Considering this is intended for gaming, could you advise which of these configurations would be the most effective?

For further support, a combination of a 9900k processor and an RTX Titan represents the highest level of gaming performance currently available. Increasing the number of cores in a processor doesn't necessarily improve core speed; it often has the opposite effect. Core speeds tend to decrease with more cores present.

Therefore, an i5 processor is generally advised. It offers fewer cores but boasts quicker clock speeds. If you’re seeking a CPU for gaming, prioritize an i5 or i7 with elevated clock rates. If you need a CPU designed for tasks like rendering and video editing, an i9 series would be more suitable. However, a rendering CPU won't perform as well in gaming, just as a rendering GPU isn’t ideal for that purpose. Simply because something is more expensive doesn't automatically make it the correct tool for a specific task.

Please note: I’ve gained extensive experience managing hardware as a CAD Administrator, requiring me to develop thorough knowledge of computer components to provide valuable insights.

These are remarkably absurd selections for a computer intended for playing games; the i9-9440X will not noticeably surpass a basic i5-8600k in gaming performance, and the Threadripper will often underachieve.

If you truly desire guidance, I suggest providing a price range for your build and detailing your intended use and objectives—rather than presenting us with a selection of inadequate options and requesting we fabricate an answer.

Absolutely no configurations would surpass a 9900k processor and an RTX Titan graphics card. And unless you intend to create a 4K 144Hz display, a single 2080 Ti would offer comparable performance.

The selections being presented for a gaming computer are remarkably absurd—an i9 9440x won’t noticeably improve performance compared to a basic i5-8600k in games, and Threadrippers often perform worse.

If you truly desire a recommendation, it's preferable to provide your budget and detail how you intend to use the computer and what you hope to achieve with it, instead of offering a selection of inadequate options and requesting us to guess your needs.

Please refrain from attempting to dissuade me from seeking a powerful system beyond my financial means.

It’s not excessively strong. In reality, it's inferior at gaming… However, you are welcome to waste your time as much as you desire.

The proposed selections for a gaming computer are remarkably absurd; the i9 9440X won’t noticeably surpass a basic i5-8600k in gaming performance, and Threadrippers often underperform.

To provide a helpful response, it’s far better to outline your financial constraints and intended use for the system – along with what you hope to achieve – than to offer a collection of inadequate options and request us to provide a solution.

Indeed, Threadrippers are typically less powerful than i5 processors; we ought to present this individual with a “most knowledgeable” award.

You sought guidance and reacted negatively to the suggestions offered. A higher price tag for a processor does not automatically signify superior performance in gaming. Currently, the 9900k presents a marginal improvement over the 9700k as the top gaming CPU. Your selected processors are not ideal for gaming because of their limited ability to handle single-core tasks effectively.

When games demand strong processing from a single central processor, a Threadripper will be outperformed by an i5 8600k. Threadripper isn’t designed for gaming, and your dismissive behavior is unacceptable when seeking assistance.

These selections are completely absurd for a gaming computer; the i9-9440X won’t noticeably improve performance compared to a basic i5-8600k when playing games, and the Threadripper often performs worse.

Cease attempting to dissuade me from pursuing a powerful computer that is beyond your financial means. I could purchase your ineffective, overpriced gaming setup each month and still have ample funds for a therapist to address your aggressive behavior and private lessons to educate you about the distinct CPU requirements of workstation software and games. These processors with a large number of cores, but operating at lower speeds, excel for tasks like generating images or executing complex calculations. However, they’re not suitable for playing games such as Battlefield V. Your reasoning is similar to suggesting a sports car is superior at transporting a refrigerator compared to a pickup truck—simply because it's faster.
