Hello everyone,

I haven't used a video game console in years – since the PlayStation 2, actually! I primarily play games on my computer, and I really like that. However, I’m looking for something different to try out as a change of pace. Would an Xbox One S be a suitable option? I’m hoping to be able to send my computer games over to it for streaming, if that's feasible. Right now, I’m enjoying titles like The Division 2, Fortnite, Devil May Cry 5, and Rainbow Six Siege, along with several others. The PlayStation 4 is significantly more expensive and widely used, but considering I’m a Microsoft user, do I have any benefits going for an Xbox? Could you offer some advice?

You can’t go wrong with either option; it depends on your particular needs. Considering you seem to favor the Xbox, that appears to be your choice.

I appreciate your guidance greatly. Are you aware if it’s possible to install external applications on Xbox consoles, such as Uplay, Epic Games and Steam? Are these platforms currently unsupported on the original Xbox One?

You can explore available applications through this link, however platforms such as Steam will not be included.

I sincerely appreciate your assistance. Speaking of completely unrelated things, do you know the name of that software used to observe a computer during gameplay? I've heard of MSI Afterburner, but I don’t possess an MSI motherboard. Also, how are you enjoying the 8086K processor?

MSI Afterburner functions with equipment from various manufacturers, as it’s primarily distributed through MSI.

HWmonitor is fairly effective.

I cherish my 8086k, as I was fortunate enough to be a recipient in an anniversary celebration giveaway; at the time, I wouldn’t have considered purchasing or suggesting it as a superior alternative to the 8700k. It represents a notable improvement compared to my previous Phenom II processor, and I am quite pleased with the result. Had it not been for this win, I would still be utilizing that older system.

Seriously, that’s amazing—you won! I don't know anyone who possesses one; it's incredibly expensive, actually costing more than an Intel Core i9 9900k. The Core i7-8700k is the most common of that series. Did you need to replace a lot of your computer parts, or did it simply involve the processor and motherboard? It's a massive improvement over your Phenom II. Did you participate in a contest?

Due to a hardware issue, I needed to swap out the motherboard and memory. This was part of Intel’s 40th anniversary promotion, a large-scale event offering 8000 processors as prizes.
