I am considering replacing my current computer, and I've observed that specific games—particularly Total War—cause significant temperature increases on my system, primarily at the top. Consequently, I recognize a requirement for improved cooling solutions; however, I’m uncertain about the best approach. I frequently need to utilize low or medium graphical settings to maintain smooth performance.

My system specifications are as follows:

Motherboard: MSI X79A-GD45 (MS-7735)
Processor: Intel Core i7-3820 @ 3.60GHz
RAM: 16GB
GPU: GeForce GTX 1060 with 6GB of VRAM
Operating System: Windows 10
Storage: 2x 1TB Hard Drives, 1x 256GB Solid State Drive

The situation isn't bad, and currently two fans are circulating fresh air. However, I recommend installing an additional fan at the rear to remove warm air from the case. This would improve airflow around the CPU and create a beneficial flow pattern moving from front to back...Regarding the CPU cooler, could you identify its manufacturer as the Corsair fan label is unclear.

Could you please specify the power supply unit’s manufacturer and model, its wattage, how old it is, and its condition?

Regarding temperature control, what cooling solutions are you presently employing and what computer case do you possess?

I’ve compiled a selection of processors that could be substituted for your existing i7-3820, however, these will need to be sourced from online marketplaces like eBay. I've observed the i7-4930K with six cores available for approximately £100.

Alternatively, you could upgrade your graphics card—however, this might create a performance limitation, though the extent of this is uncertain and input from others would be beneficial. Something such as a GTX 1660Ti would be suitable.

Or, you could completely overhaul your system with a Ryzen 3600 processor, a B450 motherboard, and DDR4 memory. This would likely provide the most significant improvement and enhance the performance of your 1060 graphics card, with an approximate total expense of $400.

This approximately five-year-old Cooler Master RS-600-ACAB-D3 power supply unit is in fair shape. For cooling, I'm utilizing two fans on the front and a Corsair fan positioned behind the processor. The case itself is a Graphite Series 230T model. Thank you!

The situation isn’t bad at all; two fans are effectively introducing refreshing air. I'd suggest incorporating an additional fan positioned at the rear to expel warm air from the enclosure. This would help prevent heat buildup around the central processing unit and establish a beneficial airflow path from front to back. Regarding the CPU cooler, could you clarify its manufacturer, as the Corsair fan’s labeling is not entirely transparent.

I intend to investigate obtaining a fan positioned at the rear, though I’m uncertain if there is sufficient room; I will conduct some investigation.

I haven't been able to locate details about the fan specifically, but it appears remarkably similar to the Hydro Series H50 Quiet model.

There are absolutely no issues. The Graphite 230T does provide room for a single 120mm fan at the back of the enclosure.

Could it be that area is already occupied by the computer’s fan for cooling the processor?
Thank you.

Aha...I see you have a AIO water cooler...the H50 in fact with one fan and it is fitted to the rear of the case...This might just need to be uninstalled and cleaned with new thermal paste applied...
