I’m using an Intel Core i5-6300 with a GeForce GT960M 8GB on my laptop and an older AMD Phenom II X4 B45 running at 3.2 GHz on my desktop PC. My primary goal is to be able to play PUBG effectively on either machine, achieving a smooth frame rate. My laptop experiences significant lag during intense combat situations – what steps should I take? Should I increase the RAM to 8GB and configure it for dual-channel operation on my laptop, or should I abandon the laptop and overclock my desktop PC while purchasing a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti? Which choice would be the most suitable for me? Thank you.

Battlegrounds Mobile is frequently a performance problem on personal computers. This isn't unusual to note. Even with high-end equipment, players often experience pauses and delays depending on what's happening in the game – such as intense battles, dense vegetation, or complex visual effects.

Adding more memory to that portable computer probably wouldn't significantly improve frame rates. Perhaps a small increase at most. The core problem lies in the graphics card's video memory becoming full and relying on system memory, combined with the limitations of older hardware within the laptop. Experimenting with reduced visual settings could help reduce strain on the system.

Regarding that outdated desktop, it wouldn't be worthwhile to upgrade. Although you could install a graphics card, your processor would severely limit its effectiveness. Investing in a completely new computer would be the more effective solution.

Fortnite suffers from noticeable performance problems on personal computers. This isn't surprising, and it’s frequently observed even with high-end machines – gameplay can become choppy and delayed during intense moments like battles, dense vegetation, or complex visual effects. Increasing memory to that portable computer probably wouldn’t significantly improve frame rates; perhaps a small increase at most. The root cause lies in the graphics card’s video memory reaching its limit and relying on system RAM, combined with limitations of less powerful laptop hardware. Experimenting with reduced graphics options can help reduce strain on the system. Regarding that older desktop, upgrading it would likely be unproductive. Adding a graphics card would be overshadowed by the processor’s limitations, making a completely new computer a more sensible investment. If you do opt for a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, adjust the settings until you achieve a more consistent and fluid performance.
