I recently invested over $2,000 in a new Aurora system and remain dissatisfied with its performance. My specifications include an i7 8700k processor, GTX 1080 ti graphics card, 32GB of RAM, a 850w power supply, and a 250gb SSD. I’m struggling to record and play smoothly despite significant GPU overclocking. The CPU cannot be overclocked due to the lack of an “overclock option,” instead utilizing "turbo boost technology." I'm seeking recommendations for optimizing my PC for streaming, recording, and gaming – specifically regarding potential settings adjustments or further overclocking strategies. Dell support suggested exploring the “advanced BIOS,” but I found no relevant options there. I’ll now investigate using the Alienware Command Center, which advised this route. I enjoy playing games but am having difficulty with my PC setup. : )
Update: I discovered an Overclocking feature within the Alienware controls! I'm unsure which option to select. Screenshots of both profiles are available, and I can create custom ones.

Don’t anticipate results before they happen. If you suspect your hardware isn't performing as expected out of the box, detail which games, resolution, and settings you’re using. Addressing these issues first is crucial before attempting overclocking. Seeking guidance simply to identify adjustments could negatively impact your system. Overclocking requires careful adjustment and a robust cooling solution. Many games suffer from poor optimization, and a 1080 Ti doesn't automatically guarantee 4K performance at 60 frames per second. For streaming applications, a high-end Ryzen processor is generally preferable.
Don't implement solutions prematurely. If you suspect your hardware isn’t performing as expected out of the box, detail which games, resolution, and settings you’re using. This must be addressed first before attempting any overclocking. If you require assistance simply understanding which adjustments to make and where to locate them, it could potentially create further problems.
