I previously enjoyed Rust, playing for extended periods with consistently high frame rates and smooth performance at maximum settings. Recently, I installed an SSD and reinstalled Rust, but encountered significant issues. Even on standard configurations, the game frequently experienced substantial lag spikes and crashes. Reducing my graphics settings to their lowest levels did little to alleviate these problems; I still received frame rate fluctuations, averaging 90-100 frames per second, punctuated by intense periods of lagging when moving my view within the game. I'm unsure how to resolve this issue, and here are my system specifications:

Motherboard: H110M-K
Processor: i5-7400k @ 3.00Ghz
Graphics Card: asus dual gtx 1060 6gb
Memory: 2x Corsair 4GB DDR4 2133MHz 1.20v DIMM
Boot Drive: SSD 850 evo 500gb
Secondary Drive: 1tb HDD
Operating System: Windows 10 x64
Power Supply: Corsair 550 Watt VS550

I resolved the issue; the cause was memory.

I am experiencing the identical issue. It’s just a problem within the game, and I don't understand why it's happening.

Rust demands significant processing power, and performance issues like lag are often unavoidable based on your computer’s central processor.

My computer is very similar to yours, though it has a stronger processor. I consistently achieve around 60 frames per second on Super Potato and all video/graphic settings at their lowest levels, but I experience significant and sudden drops in frame rate as well. Please advise!

I enhanced the memory, and it’s running efficiently.

The issue has been resolved; it stemmed from memory usage.
