Resolved: My PC experiences reduced frame rates when used as a desktop.
Hi everyone!
Recently, my computer has been experiencing a noticeable decrease in frames per second when simply browsing my desktop—without running any games or applications. However, specific titles like Battlefield 2 run smoothly. Other games completely block gameplay due to the low performance. I'm uncertain about the source of this issue.
I would really value any assistance you could offer. Thank you.
What type of storage is being used for the game – a mechanical hard drive or a solid-state drive? Your problem probably stems from a sluggish drive combined with insufficient RAM. The processor isn’t assisting either, therefore it's primarily determined by which component is causing the bottleneck. I recommend using Resource Monitor to run a game (ideally in windowed mode for observation) and record what processes reach 100% utilization during gameplay. The CPU should show high activity, so carefully monitor the memory and disk sections as well.
Please refrain from disturbing. I am still awaiting the complete technical specifications.
I recently received a video on my mobile device of myself engaging with a game (Garry’s Mod); I will share it shortly (GeForce Experience was acting strangely and refused to record, and frankly, I doubted it would have displayed properly).
Oops, I mistakenly assumed you were requesting a temporary version. I’ll upload it momentarily, my apologies.
Computing Components:
Central Processing Unit (CPU): Intel Pentium G3220, 3.00 GHz
Memory (RAM): 4 GB
Graphics Processing Unit (GPU): NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
Mainboard: Gigabyte H81M-DS2
Architecture: 64-bit
I recently observed that my mouse had reduced responsiveness or was experiencing delays, and this issue persists. Please find a video demonstrating its impact on my game here: https://streamable.com/nijg7 (Please excuse the poor quality of the phone recording; alternative methods were unavailable at the time). This problem didn't occur previously, nor is it solely attributable to the camera’s perspective – I’ve confirmed this. Furthermore, my frame rate remains stable, which adds to the puzzling nature of the situation.
