Resolved: Intel Core i7-7700K CPU utilization at 90-100% during gameplay.
My Intel Core i7-7700K processor reached 90-100% utilization during gaming sessions.
Hello everyone, my gaming PC consists of a GTX 1080 Ti graphics card, an i7-7700K CPU, 16GB of RAM, and a Hydro Series™ H100i cooler. I suspect there’s an issue with my system. Previously, watching videos on a secondary monitor disrupted gameplay by causing significant lag, which I was unable to resolve.
Today while playing Battlefield V, the CPU consistently operated at approximately 100% usage even without other programs running. I've attached screenshots of my Task Manager and game settings via this link: https://imgur.com/a/HP2bRiU.
I’m wondering if this level of CPU activity is typical for Battlefield V, or if my processor isn't sufficient. Additionally, could I stream with this configuration? I attempted streaming (using the ENVEC Encoder at 2500 bits per second, 1080 resolution, and 60 frames per second) and experienced 100% CPU usage alongside stuttering in games like Overwatch, Rainbow Six Siege, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Rainbow Six Extraction, Fortnite, and Battlefield V.
Seriously, Winks, what’s going on? It’s unreasonable for someone with a $600 graphics card and a $300 processor to be receiving recommendations for 30 frames per second or 720p resolution. Do you understand the specifications of those parts at all? It's frustrating that the 7700k is limiting performance in this game. This shouldn’t be occurring. Call of Duty needs to improve and resolve this problem.
Maintaining maximum performance is typical, provided temperatures remain within acceptable limits. However, reducing settings to 1080p at 30 frames per second, or 720p at 60 frames per second, or limiting frame rates in the game would be beneficial.

Absolutely, BF5 will heavily strain quad-core processors. BF5 is recognized as a particularly demanding title for CPUs. Regarding the issue of lag – are you experiencing frame rate drops? Considering your processor, you should likely achieve approximately 60 frames per second at 1080p resolution with minimal difficulty after adjusting your in-game settings.
