I attempted to upgrade the BIOS over the network on my Elitedesk 800 with a Ryzen 5 G4. No errors were reported, but the update didn’t finish properly. It seems the process is stuck after reaching version 6.8.0. The issue appears linked to the onboard PD Front1, which the update claims is being updated from 6.8.0 to 6.8.0. It tries to continue but halts. Any suggestions? Full update steps are available at the provided link.

Check if your system includes a BIOS update feature within Windows, have you explored it?

HP's tool for opening windows guides you here, mainly handling the Windows update and letting BIOS manage the rest. On the subject, consider updating to a previous version first—older versions are available on the HP website, such as 02.20.

I don’t think there’s a link. The HP website seems really hard to use.

Check the network setup and configurations to ensure no restrictions block direct access to HP's update site.

This site offers comprehensive HP drivers. The HP homepage can be overwhelming initially, but once you locate your specific model it provides useful information. Entering the model number helps with more accurate updates.

The BIOS download seems to work, but the update to version 6.8.0 is blocking it. You’re stuck in a loop updating the same firmware repeatedly.

I've dealt with this cycle before (link provided). It only provides the version accessible through a network BIOS update.

HP hides the previous versions in a dropdown menu. This one should be version 02.20. You can find it here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/sel...fFlag=true
