Resolved: Game display issue.
Hello, I'm experiencing a sporadic issue within Fortnite where the game fails to display visuals for approximately 2-3 minutes after launch. Restarting my computer usually resolves this temporarily. I suspect either a hard drive or memory issue might be contributing to the problem. My system specifications are: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti overclocked, Intel Core i5-3450, 8GB DDR3 at 1366MHz, and a Western Digital Blue hard drive.
To assess whether the problem lies within the computer or with game configurations, it’s essential to evaluate performance across multiple games. Switching from a traditional platter drive to a new solid-state drive (prices are becoming increasingly affordable) would eliminate any potential problems related to the storage device itself.
Regarding “hang-the-9”:
Are you experiencing this problem with just that one game? Does the hard drive seem unusually loud or active when you initiate it? Have you attempted to reinstall both the game and your computer’s operating system?
I can't comment on other games, as I don't play them. Yes, it does produce a noticeable sound while running. Despite reinstalling the game and my PC completely, the issue persists. It appears to be an intermittent problem—it happens approximately seven times out of every ten plays.
It’s important to evaluate the system's performance across multiple games to determine whether the problem lies with the computer itself or with how the game is configured. If you swap out the traditional hard drive for a solid-state drive (SSDs are becoming increasingly affordable), this will eliminate any potential problems related to the drive hardware.
