Recently, I’ve encountered performance problems while gaming on my computer. This became particularly noticeable when playing Borderlands 3, where aiming would frequently stutter or exhibit delays for brief moments—just long enough to miss shots and become frustrated. Rocket League has also presented difficulties over the past two months, consistently triggering a “connection loss” notification when goals are scored, simulating a lag issue and a significant framerate problem that quickly vanishes as the game restarts. In Borderlands 3, my average frame rate typically ranges from 80 to 110, consistently maintaining above 60. Rocket League maintains a steady frame rate of 150 due to its high performance requirements. When I play Borderlands 3, my processor usage consistently reaches 97-100%, alongside my graphics card. This occurs in Rocket League as well, though to a lesser degree and with less regularity.

My hardware specifications include: a GPU – Asus TURBO RTX2070; CPU – Intel core i5-8500; and a motherboard – Asus Prime B360 Plus. While my processor isn’t particularly powerful, I've previously enjoyed running demanding games without any issues. Games like Division 2, Destiny 2, and Rainbow Six Siege have all performed flawlessly. However, Rocket League began exhibiting these problems approximately one to two months ago. Thank you for any assistance you can provide!

If your motherboard’s drivers are current, Windows is updated, the graphics drivers are up-to-date, your antivirus software hasn't detected any threats, your storage devices are healthy and below 75% capacity, you don’t have any unwanted software automatically installing drivers like Driver Booster 6, your processor is utilizing dual-channel memory effectively, and you aren’t running numerous demanding applications simultaneously while gaming, then the solution likely involves increasing visual settings or upgrading your central processing unit.
