My personal computer exhibits unusual fluctuations in its clock speeds; it occasionally reduces to around 800 MHz during gameplay, leading to a decrease in frames per second. However, when I utilize the CPU Z program, performance typically operates normally. The problem arises only if I neglect to open this program immediately after startup. I’m uncertain about how this software functions, but these two factors appear linked.
I considered replacing my processor to see if it would resolve the situation. I'm hesitant to invest over 200 euros unless it actually fixes the issue.

The cause is currently unknown – it may be related to either the motherboard or the processor. It appears that the CPU’s temperature sensors are degrading over time. Consequently, the BIOS setting “Intel adaptive thermal monitor” has been activated because the system believes the CPU is overheating, which then reduces the clock speed to 800 MHz. I have deactivated this setting but am seeking a more permanent solution.
Should the motherboard remain under warranty, please reach out to MSI and initiate an RMA process; otherwise, begin searching for a substitute.
