Hey everyone, I’m facing a big problem with screen brightness. This morning I installed the latest NVIDIA drivers (version 580.88), and right after setup the screen automatically went to the lowest level. It’s nearly impossible to read anything. My external monitor connected via a docking station stayed at its normal brightness, so it seems unaffected. I’m using Windows 11.

From what I understand, adjusting brightness is only possible through the FN keys on my laptop. Those don’t respond for brightness changes, though other FN keys work fine. I’ve tried several fixes without success: reinstalling drivers multiple times (both with and without rebooting), reinstalling driver 577, using the control panel under System/Display (no brightness options), following a YouTube guide, running a system scan, trying a rollback driver, switching to battery mode or plugging in, unplugging the monitor or keyboard, editing the registry, and even toggling the brightness interface key.

It looks like there’s currently no software option for changing screen brightness, and the hardware FN keys aren’t working either. I’m hoping someone can help me figure this out further.

The Nvidia driver I had was labeled "GeForce Game Ready" version 580.88. Using the "NVIDIA Studio" driver instead fixed the problem. However, my game drivers are still outdated. I’m hoping for a new driver release that will go beyond 580.88.
