Resolved: Attempting to launch Blair Witch on Steam.
It functions successfully, though the result isn't visually refined. Just two weeks ago, I received an HP Z400 workstation and installed: a Xeon X5687 processor, 12 GB of memory, and a GTX 1060 with 3GB of graphics. I’ve confirmed that temperatures are within acceptable ranges using Core Temp. I assembled this system for my son, intending to conduct a 15-hour trial period initially. Immediately, I determined that maximum settings and the highest resolution were not feasible; performance was choppy and erratic. Reducing the graphics to medium settings at a lower resolution made it playable at 60 frames per second, but the screen exhibited noticeable ‘tearing’ as I moved horizontally. I haven't encountered this before, and it’s possible my description isn't accurate, but could this be attributable to insufficient hardware? Thank you for your insight.
Could you please specify your monitor model and connection method? Have you attempted to enable VSync?
This screen likely exhibits a sluggish update speed, which is the reason for that. Experiment with it on a standard monitor—ideally not one from many years ago.
