I recently purchased a new 1440p display with a refresh rate of 165Hz to improve upon my older 60Hz 1080p screen. The increased refresh rate is clearly evident during general desktop use and software applications, however, my in-game frame rates consistently remain at 60 FPS across all titles. I possess two additional 60Hz monitors that I use for secondary tasks. My graphics card, a 980 Ti, is capable of rendering at significantly higher frame rates in games like Minecraft and CSGO. The monitor utilizes a DisplayPort connection.

The following troubleshooting steps have been attempted without resolution:

* Disconnecting and unplugging 60Hz monitors
* Disabling V-Sync, both manually and via NVInspector
* Activating high performance mode within NVInspector and Windows settings
* Deactivating Game Bar and DVR functionality
* Disabling full-screen optimizations
* Turning off Adaptive Sync (Freesync/GSync)
* Disabling DisplayHDR
* Setting the monitor's display preset to "Game"
* Enabling low-latency mode on the monitor
* Verifying that the monitor is recognized as 165Hz in Windows and NVCP
* Performing a complete driver clean using DDU (in safe mode and followed by a restart)
* Installing the latest stable graphics drivers
* Limiting frame rates to 165 FPS through NVInspector

It was a minor oversight, but I’ve resolved my issue. RiveTuner was running silently at startup without me realizing it, and I’d been forcing all games to a fixed 60 frames per second. Appreciate the assistance.

We require further details. Could you please specify the manufacturer and model of your 165Hz 1440p monitor? Additionally, what is the make and model of your power supply unit (PSU), and how old is it? Assuming you are using Windows 10, which version are you running?

Only Minecraft and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive have been tested with the new display.

This computer is a Dell S3220DGF, and it appears to be primarily available through Best Buy. The power supply unit is a Corsair CX850M, which I purchased approximately three years ago. The operating system is Windows 10 version 18362. I’ve experimented with a variety of games, encompassing lighter titles such as Minecraft and CSGO alongside more demanding options like Rimworld, CSS, GTA V, and GR Wildlands. My apologies for the delayed response; I didn’t receive any alerts indicating a reply had been sent.

It was a bit silly, but I resolved my issue. RiveTuner activated automatically at startup without me realizing it. I had previously set all games to a fixed 60 frames per second. Thank you for your assistance.
