Resolve double-click issue on 2012 Razer Mamba?
Resolve double-click issue on 2012 Razer Mamba?
I own an old Razer Mamba 2012 mouse
About two weeks ago it began double-clicking occasionally when I wanted just one click, and this has gotten worse.
I cleaned the mouse and checked that the driver is up to date.
I also increased the mouse double-click speed in Windows to a quicker setting.
I’m not sure how to solder, so these YouTube fixes seem out of my reach.
Does this suggest it’s time to replace the mouse?
I don't understand how to solder, so the YouTube videos on those kinds of fixes are really confusing for me.
Yes, the problem can be fixed by simply swapping out the switch that's causing the issue. It's a typical concern with Razer mice. I experienced the same problem, but I didn't replace my Razer Starcraft II Spectre mouse's switch because the clicks were doubled or even triple. I chose to buy a new mouse and keep the Razer ones for later, just to remind me never to purchase their products.
Can you find a nearby repair shop that can help with soldering and desoldering your switches?
I don't know how to solder so the youtube vidoes on those kind of fixes are beyond me.
Yes, the issue is solvable by only replacing the switch that's causing the issue. It's a common problem with Razer mice. I had the same issue, just that I didn't bother replacing my Razer Starcraft II Spectre mouse's switch since the right, left and middle clicks were all double or even triple clicking. Decided to get a new mouse and store the Razer's for posterities sake, to remind me never to buy their gear.
Can't you source a local repair shop to help solder and desolder your switch(es)?
Hi, thank you for your message. I believe one of my neighbors is skilled at soldering, so I'll let them handle it.
