Reservoir Bottom Placement
Reservoir Bottom Placement
Hi guys, welcome here at TH and WC-ing.
I was wondering if it's possible to place a XSPC dual bay reservoir at the bottom of the case. With gravity and the rads (120+240) above it, when filling the loop, will the water that rises come back down and overflow the reservoir?
If you have any questions:
- How would this work? I modified the 3.5" bay to fit a dual 5.25"
- Why did I choose a tight, small mATX case without an odd bay?
- Why two rads? Just for future upgrades, like adding a GPU
I've attached a picture that explains my setup.
Thanks for any feedback!
There isn't a problem with 'overflow'; that's not how a loop functions. In a functioning loop, gravity doesn't affect the movement of flow. The main concern is that your pump might be positioned above your reservoir, which could cause airlock issues and improper water drawing. Is this accurate—that the pump is higher than the reservoir?
