It was a surprise when I realized the problem after spending time figuring it out. One of the DIMMs became dislodged and wasn’t seated correctly. I had to replace them, and then everything functioned properly.

I only needed to power down, take out one stick, reset CMOS, restart, and the hardware reserve went from 51MB to around 70MB. Clearing the CMOS helped fix it. Thanks a lot!
