Last night I began exploring ways to boost my PC's performance. With a newer machine, I thought this would be an ideal opportunity to try things out. After watching several tutorial videos and reading instructions on various forums, I found myself confused. I wasn't sure if the issue lay with a sensor or if the system was being pushed too hard. After adjusting the multiplier to 50 and setting my desired Vcore in the BIOS, I restarted and launched Prime95. Right before testing, I checked HWInfo, then opened CPU-Z, and finally rebooted back into BIOS to confirm everything was set correctly. My Vcore reads 1.64V. It matches across all monitoring tools I've installed, and according to the motherboard guides, it shouldn't drop no matter what I tweak in the BIOS. Now I'm worried about using the PC at its original settings. Anyone have any advice? I'm posting this on other hardware forums but haven't gotten much help so far. It seems like people aren't taking my concerns seriously, right? My specs are: motherboard: Gigabyte Z370 HD3, CPU: Intel I7-8700K, RAM: 24GB DDR4 at 3000MHz, GPU: MSI 2X Ventus OC RTX3060, power supply: Kolink 600W.

Also using a CoolerMaster ML240 AIO cooler. Typically stays idle for 30 to 40 seconds and has never faced stability problems.

No, the reset to stock settings or CMOS clear does function properly.

It might just be a sensor issue. You can verify if it's actually delivering 1.6V using a lighter load like CPU stress. If it reaches 1.6V, it’s likely to overheat quickly since the cooling system already handles 1.5V well, making 1.6V even more problematic. The main risk remains temperature, not danger itself.

Your LLC configuration is ready for load line calibration.

I installed a lot of v-core and LN2 at 6.2ghz. It seems like there was a misleading reading. Possibly the software is causing issues. I don’t know which one is responsible—no idea about the installed programs or what’s running. The simplest option would be to check the chipset drivers or update the BIOS. Clearing the CMOS was recommended earlier, but it didn’t work because the system would have stopped before starting.

I've attempted both methods and then adjusted the Vcore afterward, but it's still displaying over 1.6v.

You've adjusted the clock speed to 5GHz at 1.3x speed and everything's holding up well. Idle temps sit around 40°C, and stress tests show performance in the 70s/80s. Gameplay runs smoothly, though it's hard to say for sure if any damage is being done.

You're all right, the system is just picking up 1.6v without any reason. You won't hurt your CPU with just a small 1.6v boost, and it's definitely not a strong xoc voltage.
