Hello there! I’m clearly passionate about technology, which is why I regularly check out YouTube and share my thoughts here. I’m feeling a bit frustrated because many games are out of reach for me due to my physical condition. As someone who uses a wheelchair and relies on just one hand, titles like Doom Eternal or Half-Life Alyx are really challenging. However, Factorio is something that really captures my interest. I’ve attempted to automate it with AutoHotKey, but progress is slow—I have to work around my body rather than focus on the design. Do you know of any effective mods or hacks that could help me get more out of the game? If this helps, I’m using a Steelseries Rival 500 mouse with 15 buttons. For those who can only use one hand, I think this is one of the most user-friendly options available. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Could your hand interact with a touchpad or similar input device? I recall watching a streamer in Escape from Tarkov where he had a significant arm injury and relied on a trackpad for control, effectively using it to impact opponents.

An MMO mouse could be useful since it offers many more buttons than regular ones.

If you bound your mouse buttons to WASD and E for movement and inventory you should be able to play by using your thumb for those actions. Everything else can be done by mouse even if it takes a bit longer. You might need to play without hostiles because moving and shooting would be hard even with other keys bound to the mouse (space for fire). In any case Factorio is amazing and I wish you the best.

The rival mouse is great. To you statik , i might be able to use a trackpad, would have to see it. There are people out there that make accessible controllers, ben heck seemingly the best, but they are all quite expensive. Now I'd be happy to pay if knew whatever the item was the right thing, but i don't know until it use it. I have spent hundreds on accessible stuff over the years and none of it has been of any use. One that springs to mind is a one handed controller for the ps1, it strapped to my arm with buttons on the fingers - expensive and completely useless

Are there mice equipped with thumbsticks? You might also consider Ben Heck’s single-hand controller. I just noticed your comment earlier, but I still think his contributions are worth mentioning.

Remember when the joystick had a large red button at the front and the auto-fire switch was right under the base? That was back in the days of the old Sinclair ZX81—just a simple black-and-white setup with no real keyboard.
