I'm trying to set up Puppy Linux 6.3.2 on my Dell Inspron 41171. After booting from USB, I need to configure Xorg and install using the unaxccelerated GPU driver. Once in the GUI, I partitioned the internal drive and started the installation. It finished successfully, but when I reboot, the UEFI BIOS doesn't recognize the internal drive as a bootable device. I'm open to installing any Linux version, as this is the only one that worked on USB. Please let me know more details when you're ready.

Could it be that you're seeking a more appropriate distribution for this device? Mint might be a better choice.

It was the sole Linux variant that could start up, likely due to GPU driver issues. Also, the device had minimal CPU performance.

Mint works well with your setup. A Celeron would also function nicely. Look for GPU drivers compatible with it.
