Requesting assistance with upgrading RAM for ASUS P5N73-AM.
I own an ASUS P5N73-AM board with a Intel Core2 Quad Q9550 processor and 4GB DDR2 memory at 800Mhz (two 2GB sticks). The manual claims the system can handle up to 4GB, but it’s outdated—DDR2 sticks were often sold before that. There’s a confusing note suggesting 32-bit OSes only go up to 4GB, yet I’m running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. Have anyone tried installing two 4GB DDR2 modules together? Would that work and could it support around 8GB total? Also, there are two kinds of 4GB non-ecc DDR2 RAM: one designed for AMD-only boards and another compatible with both AMD and Intel, but the latter is significantly pricier.
