Requesting assistance with 5800x oc help
experimented with OC settings on my 5800x. i was running pbo2 with a -30 curve and all-core enabled, similar to what i saw in CB2077. it kept stable at 4850mhz and 76c with a Corsair 240 AIO around 75% speed, though it was quite loud. performance was decent but i aimed to reduce temperatures. i adjusted pbo2 manually, set core voltage to manual, and monitored temps before making changes. initial readings showed underload between 1.45-1.48, so i started at 1.3 and gradually lowered it over about an hour. after reaching 1.0, the system booted back into a loop. i restored core voltage to 1.15 and played for several hours. took a break, then played BG3 with a friend for around four hours—great session with stable temps in the mid to low 60s and solid core speed of 5050mhz. next day i restarted the PC and it booted normally again. tried raising core voltage to 1.2, but it looped back. now i’m stuck at 1.15 with no further lowering possible.
What happened isn't clear. It might be memory issues. You're wondering if disabling XMP could help. Slowing RAM a bit might improve performance, but it depends. I checked override offset and curve settings—both seem fine. Your machine is an MSI Meg ACE X570, and you mentioned similar problems with negative values.
I reviewed several videos about OC'ing 5xxx chips and realized that cores around 4.8 GHz and lighter operate at 5-5.05 GHz. This information came from the screen capture.
