I own two SATA DVR units. My new ASUS ROG Massive board only provides four SATA ports, but I utilize six of them for HDDs. Additionally, I require connections for two internal DVDR drives. I also need four more SATA (or additional in the future) 6x ports. Would anyone suggest a dependable SATA6 card with at least four connections? And if possible, a double enclosure for the two DVDRs?

I recently updated the motherboard.

Current setup details:
- Operating system: Windows 10, transitioning to Windows 11
- Motherboard model: Asus Rog Maximus Z790 Dark Hero Edition
- Processor: Intel i9 12900k
- Power supply: Corsair HX 1200i
- RAM: 4 sticks of G. Skill Trident Z5 RGB Series (Intel XMP 3.0), 32GB DDR4, 6400MT/s, CL32-39-39-102, 1.40V
- Graphics: EVGA GeForce RTX 3060TI
- Storage: Western Digital WD-Black 2TB SN850X NVME (with system/programs)
- Additional components: I fully utilize all SATA ports on the Z690 for HDD storage and other needs.
- Cooling: Corsair Hydo Cooler X 3 Fan with ICUE
- Media: Liteon DVD IHAS 124-04, Pioneer DVD BDR-209UBK

Both Vantec and OWC produce enclosures for drives, but they come in single or double configurations. The main task is ensuring the enclosures are sufficiently deep for your drives, particularly the Pioneer model. I currently use an OWC enclosure with an LG drive that doesn’t provide enough depth. Given the cost of these enclosures, you might want to look into a portable drive option. I also purchased an LG portable BR for $100, which gives me flexibility regardless of the situation.

We only have the details you provide. I think it would be wise to shift the tasks for two SATA drives to an NVMe drive. This would free up two SATA ports.

Consider a DAS or a docking station.
