I'll try it out. Temperatures aren't an issue—just pushed it up to 81°C in continuous Cinebench r20 loops. Still, the guidance remains important.
If stability drops, consider boosting slightly—around 1.1250v. Current timing isn’t tight enough to stay under 1.2v consistently. If targeting CL14 through CL12, it makes sense to use this approach. Temperatures look favorable. Be cautious of high heat; CPU temps hover near 70°C. At stock voltages, the fan spins at full speed. In BIOS settings, expect a modest rise of about 5°C on that threshold. You can push the fan up to 75°C during heavy loads and still maintain performance. This only leaves a small safety margin before throttling, especially on processors with lots of transistors. From past Zen chip experiences, cooler designs reduce leakage current, which in turn lowers power needs. Less voltage loss means less heat generation. Even with PBO enabled, boosting higher still works well. I first noticed this effect with an R3 1200; it kept all cores synchronized to XFR boost clocks on Geothermal loops. It’s not a major win without PBO, but it works without it. The goal is to minimize voltage usage for maximum efficiency. Running at 50MHz isn’t too costly if you can shave off 10°C. One limitation I observed in tests—especially in sub-zero environments—is that ambient cooling rarely drops temps below 60°C. That’s where PBO, CPB, or ASUS ROG Performance Enhancer become necessary. Scores around 81 on Cinebench are acceptable. You’ll have about 9°C headroom before throttling starts. With Prime95 AVX you can still run short tests without overheating.
