Additional voltage and tighter clock speeds are emerging as challenges. It seems the memory capacity might increase, but the CPU's Memory Controller is reaching its maximum. With the 5900x I plan to boost the clock from 3,600Mhz while maintaining the current timing settings.

I just got my Ryzen 9 5900x today. I plan to install it this evening after work and then reset everything with my memory tonight. I’m looking to see what clock speeds I can achieve using the new setup at 4,000Mhz and 3,800Mhz. Based on what I’ve read so far, sticking with the 3,200Mhz CL15 might be better since unified CCXs are less affected by Infinity Fabric and memory latency.

I just got my Ryzen 9 5900x today. I plan to install it this evening after work and then reset everything with my memory tonight. I’m looking to see what clock speeds I can achieve using the new setup at 4,000Mhz and 3,800Mhz. Based on what I’ve read so far, sticking with the 3,200Mhz CL15 might be better since unified CCXs are less affected by Infinity Fabric and memory latency.

The system restarted back to its original settings and didn't accept my saved custom profile after the CPU upgrade, which isn't too serious. I've adjusted the memory settings to match the same configuration I've been using. As long as a reliable BIOS version from AMD is released (since ASUS removed the beta), I'll attempt to increase the clock speed to 3,800Mhz. In the meantime, I'm continuing with the current setup paired with a dual-core processor running at 4.7Ghz.

I understood the modifications to the CPU Dies with Zen 3 would impact stability, especially with faster memory and higher clock speeds. However, I wasn't anticipating the extent of the changes. My expectations were based on a completed BIOS with AGESA support for 2,000Mhz fclock, but I underestimated the adjustments. The same clock settings, increased voltage from 1.375v to 1.4v, and higher fclock/dram (1,900Mhz/3,800Mhz) all worked out perfectly stable. After some testing in the Dram Calculator, I realized whether timing was tighter or not. Raising the voltage to 1.425v helped maintain stability, and keeping the faster clocks while tightening the settings to 15,15,15,15 produced consistent results. Even when paired with a 4.8Ghz All Core OC, the performance remained solid. I’m considering pushing these limits further once ASUS releases a BIOS with AGESA support for 2,000Mhz fclock, but I still managed to get the 4,000Mhz CL19 kit running at 3,800Mhz CL15. This suggests significant progress from AMD in improving performance over previous generations. I was using the same machine and RAM with a R5 3600 before; reaching stable 3,600Mhz CL15 at 1.425v proved challenging.

The memory controller is performing well. The calculator is running through many calculations. A voltage of 1.4V on this board isn't much, and 1.5V still leaves plenty of headroom. You have enough power for the CPU and SOC. Where exactly is the voltage supplied?

I’ll need to verify again once I’m back, but I’ve configured both CPU and SOC with unset offsets and voltages. I don’t use fixed voltage settings even for testing the OC.

The active running CPU/SOC voltage is +0.25v above a reference value. Use HWInfo64 for accurate readings.

I feel stupide on that. Offsets are nice to know but need a known base value. In any case here's a screen cap of HWinfo64 with a V-Ray benchmark running to load the CPU.
