I'm not in the right place, mainly because I skipped the research. Are there any third-party tools or built-in Windows options that let you mute audio using just a keyboard shortcut without opening the Sound Settings?

I'm not sure if this matches the exact English translation for Windows. Right-click the tiny speaker at the bottom right, navigate to sound settings, check the "Input" label, then adjust device properties. Toggle off or set volume to zero. Most headsets have a mute button or similar feature. For video calls, look for a mute button (often a space key). With Skype, you can set push-to-talk functionality.

You can utilize PowerToys, a Microsoft offering, for different utilities. Video Conference Mute lets you silence the audio input or mute your microphone. A quick shortcut is Win + Shift + A to mute all mics at once. For more details, refer to the official documentation. You might want to give it a try, but I'm uncertain if it meets your requirements.

You can find a similar shortcut for muting the microphone on other keyboards. Check your device's settings or physical key combinations.
