Request permission to run the mobile app after Windows installation
I recently assembled a brand new PC with the following components:
I9-14900kf
msi gaming trio 5060ti 16gb
2x32gb vengeance ram
NZXT N7 Z790 motherboard
After initial setup and BIOS installation, I encountered a DRAM problem during boot. I re-seated the RAM while the system was off and now there is no power reaching the motherboard.
I tested the PSU and it functions correctly, providing accurate readings on the 24-pin motherboard connector.
I received a refund for the motherboard and PSU, so I purchased replacements. However, I remain concerned that these might not have been the main cause. Could anyone provide guidance or insights on this issue?
TIA

When sharing a troubleshooting thread, it's important to provide your full system specifications. Please list the details of your build in the following order:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
Include the age of the PSU, along with its make and model, if it was sourced from an older build.
I have replaced the RAM while the system was powered off, but now there is no power reaching the motherboard at all.
RAM slots A2 and B2 are being populated on the motherboard, according to your manual; did you check page 25?
I tested my PSU and it functions correctly, providing accurate readings on the correct pins of the 24-pin motherboard connector.
Could you share how you tested the PSU? Using the paperclip method is not reliable—it doesn’t measure the actual power output.
Moved the thread from the Motherboards section to the Systems section.
Thank you for your message.

The RAM was placed in the A2 and B2 slots on the motherboard! It passed the multimeter test and the paperclip test—yes!
I’m not entirely new to assembling PCs; I just took a long break!
