Request for PSU Guidance
I recently acquired a GeForce GTX 970 to swap out my older GeForce GTX 460. The 970 needs 2 six-pin connectors whereas the 460 only required one. My PSU is 14 years old, so I’m considering a replacement. Here are my details:

Memory: 20GB, PC3-10600 1333MHz DDR3 [6 sticks]

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970

I don’t plan to overclock the GPU since I mainly play games from the 2000s era. I believe a 600W unit would suffice.
The devices currently connected to the PSU are:
Motherboard - 24 pin
ATX CPU - 4 pin (labeled P7)
Two hard drives (labeled P5 and P6)
One CD ROM drive (labeled P2)
The current PSU dimensions are 5.5 in x 6 in x 3.25 in. It seems there’s little space for a bigger unit.
I’m prepared to spend around $200 on a new PSU. What suggestions do you have?
For relevance, AIB partners usually need extra power for their GPUs, especially if they're factory overclocked. Which GTX 970 model do you have?
TDP on that CPU is around 130 watts, I believe.
I assume the longest side is about 6 inches.
It would be a bit unsettling if we had to work with clearances as small as 0.1 or 0.2 inches.

The majority of your power consumption will stem from the graphics card. I could recommend the Seasonic core GX650 for $90 with a 7-year warranty.

The 750-watt model costs $18 more.
ATX power supply specifications are 80mm by 150mm at the rear opening.
Length may range from 140mm upwards.
Based on measurement precision, it seems you have a typical ATX power supply with roughly 150mm in length.
The Seasonic unit measures 140mm.
