It depends on the specific offer or promotion. Sometimes getting a mobile app includes a free trial or access to a premium service like Plex Premium. Check the terms of the app release or subscription plan for details.

The apps cost $5, allowing you to run Plex on a mobile device. If you opt for Plex Pass, you receive the Android and Roku versions at no extra charge, which is essentially the full benefit of the free tier.

Yes, you can view videos without connecting to the Wi-Fi network on your mobile device.

From what I grasp, streaming from your Plex server to your mobile device (including automatic transcription) is a free service globally since it uses your own equipment. However, if you wish to upload files via Plex Cloud Sync, you’ll need Plex Pass. Currently, the Plex Android app is available for free on the Amazon App Store; if you’re using an Android device, you can download it and test it out—it should function well.

Uncertain about compatibility with the Android app, but when attempting to stream from my media server to the Roku, a 30-day free trial was presented. All apps require Plex Pass: Roku, Android, iOS, etc. The only free option available was via Chromecast, which connects directly from my computer browser to the TV. The lifetime subscription offers great value, though it’s time-limited. It looks like purchasing the individual apps without Plex Pass also works, but Plex Pass provides additional features not included in the app alone.

Consider the video quality based on your CPU, home upload speed, and mobile internet speed.
