Reprogramming Windows To Resolve Restart Problem
Hey everyone, I was experimenting with storage options a while back and set my primary drive to Dynamic. Since my OS is running there, it seems the drive got partitioned, which might be why Windows shuts down unexpectedly—now I have to press Shift to power off. Recently, I swapped in a new drive that’s still on Basic settings. I’m curious if installing Windows via the Media Creation Tool will resolve the shutdown problem. Will there be conflicts between the two drives, or will the tool erase the old one? Thanks!
You need two copies of Windows 10 so that one remains on the original drive and the other is installed on a separate drive. You can disconnect the second drive during installation and reconnect it afterward. When powering on, you must adjust the BIOS settings to choose the correct boot device.
