Checking if you can schedule defragmentation at 10% usage on Windows 10 64-bit
It will automatically repair disk issues if a hard drive is detected. Since Windows Vista, this has been an automatic function.
Windows manages its own defragmentation, especially in Windows 7 and later. No action required. For SSDs that double as drives, defragmentation doesn’t help and may shorten their life. The Windows 10 defragment tool, when run manually, can initiate TRIM for better performance.
Scheduling applies only to those who are overly focused on it or need it as part of a corporate IT rule. It activates only when deemed necessary. In reality, even with scheduling, it might not run if fragmentation isn't sufficient. If you don’t want it scheduled and wish to avoid it, simply set it weekly and ignore further action. It will manage itself when needed. There’s no built-in option to force it to run at a specific fragmentation level, though this might be possible in certain system policies.
