I’ve begun experiencing this problem after a previous issue with my RAM sticks, which occasionally triggered random BSODs. Since then, I noticed a significant drop in FPS across all games and a major slowdown in overall performance. Even when GPU and CPU usage stay below 50%, my FPS often falls far short of the cap I set. For instance, capping at 144 FPS gives me around 100, while setting it to 200 only reaches about 160. When I remove the cap, I can hit up to 300 FPS, though still lower than before.

Every action on my PC feels sluggish—creating or deleting files takes a noticeable extra second. Task manager and file explorer run much slower (around 15 seconds). The shutdown process now takes twice as long, and I experience audio glitches where distortion lasts a few seconds before resolving. Occasionally, I also face brief freezes lasting a couple of seconds.

I’ve discovered this issue disappears during a safe boot, which made me suspect a driver problem. Despite trying all fixes—replacing components, updating drivers, using DDU, and running the BIOS update—I still can’t resolve it. Any advice or assistance would be extremely helpful.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
Upgrading or swapping components like CPU, GPU, motherboard, and RAM
Same parts or different models for motherboard and RAM?
RAM: (16x4) 64gb DDR4 3200MHz (Note: I encounter overclocking errors during boot at 3200MHz; current speed is 3133MHz)
Could you clarify what type of RAM you're using? Do you have a link to it?
What BIOS version is installed on your motherboard right now?
Running DDU to uninstall GPU drivers manually (Intel, AMD, Nvidia)
I recommend rebuilding your bootable USB installer for the operating system and installing it offline. After setup, install all necessary drivers via an elevated command—right-click the installer then select Run as Administrator.

It was a different model for all the components referenced.
I currently possess this product:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0C29R9LNL?p...ct_details
And this one:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07R...UTF8&psc=1
The 7C56v1G is currently in use, but the problem continues.
I have only ever used an Nvidia GPU, so I removed only those drivers. My processor lacks an integrated graphics card.
If necessary, I’ll perform a clean install of Windows as a final option, because there are many files I want to retain and a previous clean install resulted in data loss due to an accident.
