Report failure of AMD SSD driver on Intel laptop.
I've been attempting to upgrade Windows 10 to version 1903 on my Dell Inspiron 2 in 1, but I'm encountering significant difficulties. The process failed repeatedly, triggering an error about AMD Ryzen or a driver conflict in RAID mode. It seems a driver is causing stability issues, so I'll need to disable it. However, checking the support site for compatible drivers only leads me to a page for AMD models, which doesn't match my system's Core 17 8th gen processor. Despite this, the message insists the driver should be disabled. My only choices are refreshing the update or waiting, but the progress bar remains stuck at zero, and the boot process loops indefinitely with no changes. I've tried restarting after deleting apps and files, yet the same error persists. The NVMe SSD from SK is new to me, and I'm not confident about driver compatibility. I'm finding it hard to resolve this without further guidance.
Hello there, I faced the same problem as you and discovered a solution. Get the driver INF format zip here: https://drivers.amd.com/drivers/nvme_sat...3_0_38.zip. Open Device Manager, navigate to Storage Controllers. Update drivers manually—select NVMe or SATA based on your disk type:
- AMD-Raid Bottom Device → nvme_sata_raid_windows_driver_9_3_0_38\WTx64\ RAID_NVMe \rcbottom\rcbottom.inf
- AMD-Raid Controller (storport) → nvme_sata_raid_windows_driver_9_3_0_38\WTx64\ RAID_NVMe \rcraid\rcraid.inf
Restart your system and you should be fine. Hope this works for you!
Great to hear it! No issues with the storage controller, thanks for letting me know!
Great to assist... Really glad I shared since I needed to refresh some old NUCs and could recall the steps.
