Hey there, can someone assist me? I just assembled my first gaming/editing PC and everything seemed fine for a few weeks. But yesterday the RGB lights stopped working completely when I turned on the PC via iCue. After shutting it down and restarting both iCue and MSI Center/Mystic Light, they started but stuck on their default lighting. My motherboard’s small LEDs at the bottom still aren’t lighting up. When I open the Mystic Light, I see an error saying the mainboard’s LED firmware is faulty. The instructions suggest going to Support-Live Update, clicking Advanced, and scanning/updating the MB LED FW. Have others faced this problem? Did anyone else manage to fix it?

Following those steps, I found an update for the motherboard’s firmware. When I click the update option, it asks a couple of things before updating:
- Turn off all third-party monitoring tools
- Remove all JARGB_V2 cables

The first part is simple since the only other monitoring software I use is Corsair’s iCue. For the second part, I don’t have any cables plugged into the JARGB_V2 headers, but I do have all Corsair fans connected through two Commander Core units. These are powered via SATA and plugged into the USB headers on the motherboard.

I’m curious—will these connections interfere with the firmware update? Should I also disconnect them? Also, checking the MSI FAQ at https://www.msi.com/faq/8638 mentions extra steps like clearing the CMOS by sorting the JBAT header. Are those necessary? Could they risk damaging my board further? Thanks a lot! This is my first build, so I want it running smoothly as soon as possible.
