Earlier versions of Windows (XP, Vista, 7?) offered limited protection. Modern Windows 10 and 11 provide significantly improved security. Since moving to Windows 10, I’ve rarely needed extra antivirus. You can use a free Malwarebytes anti-malware instead—it uses less memory than McAfee. Regarding RAM upgrades, there was discussion on DELL forums; check those links before purchasing. Support pages also list compatible options for Inspiron 15 models. Generally, 4GB to 16GB (up to 20GB) works well, with DDR4-2666 speed and 1.2V timing. Higher speeds like DDR4-3200 are possible but reduce performance to 2666.

Thanks a lot mate! Yeah I did go through the ram compatibility and all. I posted this here just in case it's some issue which i am not aware of or so. i'm thinking of getting a 16gb stick.
